Morena

Morena

soloist and instructor

Morena first fell in love with bellydance when she was ten years old when her mother introduced her to it. At sixteen, she began to seriously dabble in dancing and fell in love with it all over again. At eighteen, she began to take formal classes and performing not long after. Today, Morena has been an instructor for the past 7 years. She began with Cabaret and was introduced to Tribal Fusion where she then fully explored that genre of bellydance and stayed with it.

Morena teaches Cabaret, Tribal Fusion and aerobic bellydance. She performs both in solo and group choreography, but loves most the freedom that improvisational bellydance offers. Enjoying all of the dark (possibly creepy) things in life, she particularly enjoys the underbelly culture of Tribal Fusion bellydance.

After taking a break from dancing to have her son, Morena found it hard to feel comfortable going back to dancing. With a lot of practice and will power, she came back because bellydance had become a huge part of who she was and she did not want to lose that. From this experience, Morena wants to move other mothers, who may have after-baby body issues, to begin or get back to dance, and to most of all realize that just because you’re a mom, doesn’t mean you can’t dance and be fabulous at it!
